I think that I may have moles, what do I do?
Utah is lucky and doesn’t have moles. You likely have gophers or voles.
-
Do you release any trapped skunks, rats, or raccoons?
We are required by state law to humanely euthanize these animals. Spotted skunks, however, are native to Utah and we can release them back into the wild.
-
Do you treat for bats or pigeons?
Yes. We can’t give you a quote over the phone, but we can schedule a time for a technician to take a look. Contact us or call our office at (801) 810-7378.

What Happens to Wildlife We Remove from Your Home?
When it comes to wildlife removed from your home, at Pest Pro Pest Control, we're deeply committed to following ethical and legal guidelines that prioritize the well-being of the animals and the safety of our community. There are circumstances mandated by state law where we are required to humanely euthanize certain species to prevent the spread of disease and potential harm to humans, pets, and local wildlife. However, this is always our last resort.
On a brighter note, we're pleased to share that our well-trained professionals can relocate animals like spotted skunks, which are native to our Utah landscapes, to appropriate wild areas away from residential zones. This allows us to balance human needs with our respect for the natural ecosystem. We follow stringent protocols to ensure that the release is not only safe but also gives these animals the best chance to thrive in their natural habitat. Rest assured that the decisions we make at Pest Pro Pest Control always reflect our dedication to humane practices and environmental stewardship.

Are Pest Control Products Harmful to Pets or Children?
At Pest Pro Pest Control, we understand that your family's safety comes first, which is why we're committed to using insecticide treatments that are child and pet-friendly. Once our insecticides have dried completely on treated surfaces, you can trust that they are safe for children and warm-blooded pets to be around. We recommend keeping children and pets away from treated areas until they're fully dry to ensure their utmost safety. For our feathery, scaly, or exoskeletal companions, extra precautions, such as covering their enclosures, can provide additional protection during treatment.
If there's an accidental touch or a sneaky lick of insecticide before it has completely dried, don't panic. Simply wash the affected area with soap and water. However, if your child appears unwell or your warm-blooded pet starts acting out of the ordinary, it's essential to act swiftly. Contact poison control for your child or your veterinarian for your pet for immediate advice. Remember, you can refer to the email we sent after completing the treatment or give us a call to get specific information about the insecticide used, ensuring fast and accurate assistance. Your peace of mind is our priority, and we're here to help every step of the way.

What Does Treatment Entail?
At Pest Pro Pest Control, our comprehensive treatment process is designed with both efficiency and safety in mind. Our service technicians meticulously treat the exterior of your home by spraying not just the foundation but also extending a few feet out from it to create a dependable barrier against pests. Windowsills and door frames receive special attention, too, because these areas can be gateways for all kinds of unwelcome critters.
On the inside, our approach is equally detailed. We target the baseboards, windowsills, and door frames—key transit points for pests moving within your home. But our service doesn't just stop at spraying. We also take the time to educate homeowners on what they can do to maintain a pest-free environment after our treatment. With our professional-grade products and a little homeowner savvy, your space will stay protected and peaceful.

How do I prepare for a bed bug treatment?
Bed bugs require different treatment methods, and that makes the process of preparing for treatment a bit different. Start by organizing and decluttering your space to provide easy access to baseboards—the bed bugs' highway in your home. Strip your beds of all bedding and keep them ready for laundering, as high temperatures can eliminate any hidden pests. Ensure that the areas under your beds are empty; this makes every nook and cranny accessible for treatment.
Don't forget to empty the lower drawers of your dressers and nightstands. We know it may feel like a chore, but it's a critical step to ensure comprehensive coverage during treatment. As for your closets, move items from the floors to the center of the room—this will allow our treatment to form a protective moat around the edges. Our goal is to leave no stone unturned, or in this case, no baseboard unsprayed, fostering peace of mind with the promise of a thorough bed bug eviction.

How Can You Prepare for Pest Control Treatments?
Prepping your space for a pest control treatment is critical to ensuring that the service is as effective as possible. To get started, tidy up your home by reducing clutter around the baseboards. This includes organizing or temporarily moving items like magazines, boxes, and small pieces of furniture. Our techs come equipped with specialized spraying wands that allow them to reach behind more oversized items such as beds and desks, but having clear access to baseboards is crucial. A clean perimeter allows for a thorough application of treatment, which significantly enhances its efficacy.
On top of clearing the baseboards, it's also helpful to vacuum and clean your floors before the technician arrives. This doesn't just remove current pests and their remnants but also maximizes the treatment's adherence to surfaces, creating a more durable barrier against future intruders.
By following these simple steps and coordinating with our Pest Pro Pest Control experts, you can set the stage for a successful pest eradication effort and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with a pest-free environment.

Do You Need Different Treatments to Protect Your Property from Different Kinds of Pests?Different pests require distinct treatment methods tailored to their behavior, food sources, and habitats. For example, the approach to handling a colony of ants seeking sweets in your kitchen will differ significantly from the strategy used to combat a discreet termite infestation within your home's structure. Pest Pro Pest Control understands that each pest species presents unique challenges, which is why we use specialized treatments designed for the specific pests at hand. Additionally, preventative measures vary as well. While sealing cracks and removing standing water can deter a variety of pests, nuances such as the type of bait used in traps or the strategic placement of repellents are specific to each pest's preferences and tendencies.
-
How Often Should You Treat Your Property for Pests?
The recommended frequency of pest treatments can vary depending on several factors, such as the type of pests you’re dealing with, the severity of the infestation, climate conditions, and the environment around your property. Generally, a good rule of thumb is to schedule professional pest control services quarterly. This proactive approach helps identify potential problems before they escalate and maintains a protective barrier against pests that might find your home appealing.
However, more frequent treatments may be necessary in cases where the infestation is more severe or if you're dealing with persistent pests like cockroaches, bed bugs, or rodents. Additionally, certain times of the year can be particularly active for pests. During spring and summer, when most pests are most active in Salt Lake City, you might need treatments more often to keep them at bay. Pest Pro Pest Control can offer tailored solutions to keep your specific situation in check, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for you and your loved ones.
